Handling Equipment
The firm has successfully prosecuted several
cases against manufacturers of material handling
equipment such as rock aggregate. The equipment
moves material with a conveyor belt that has
a known danger, i.e. an in-running nip point
where the conveyor belt meets the sprocket. If
the nip point area is not properly guarded, the
operator can easily become entangled in the conveyor
belt resulting in the death or loss of an arm.
