She asked me, “Do I have a case here?” Our answer was, “Absolutely, yes.” In Florida, a property owner has to keep their property in a reasonably safe condition, that includes, if you’re walking downstairs, the stairs have to be appropriately built and also have appropriate surfaces on them so they’re not slippery, and also the handrail has to be appropriate. In this particular case, the handrail kind of pulled out of the wall.
